Job Title: Site Manager - Rail Division

Location: Office is based in Lympne, Kent but works to be carried out in Kent, Sussex, Essex and further. Site travel should be expected and possible staying away.

Salary: £50,000-£60,000 PA DOE

Hours: 7:30am-5pm

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time


Walker Construction are looking to hire a Site Manager (Rail Division) to join their team.

The successful candidate will be working on a handful of projects, such as: platforms, embankments, station refurbishments or track work.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • To assist the Project Manager in the management of the site on a day to day basis.
  • Responsible for managing Health, Safety and Environmental matters and ensuring a safe working environment for all site staff.
  • Preparation and management of safety documentation WPP/TBRA etc and all site records pertaining to Health, Safety and Environmental information.
  • Must be able to read drawings effectively.

The Successful Candidate Should Have / Be:

  • 2+ years of construction experience in the rail industry with 5+ years General foreman/ site supervisor experience 
  • HNC/CSCS Manager’s Card, SMSTS Qualified, PTS Certificate.
  • Have a working knowledge of NWR standards and procedures (preferred)
  • Sub-contractor co-ordination and health and safety experience
