Job Title: RICS Residential/ Building Surveyor 

Location: Torquay 

Job Type: 37.5 hours per week, On Site, Permanent, Full time (part time considered)

Salary: £35,000 - £50,000 PA DOE

McCluskey Surveyors are looking for a RICS Accredited Residential/ Building Surveyor to join their small growing team in Torquay.

If you’re looking for a beautiful view from the office windows, a stunning seafront or a creamy ice cream cone- this could be the perfect place for you!

The team at McCluskey Surveyors do NOT believe in micro-management. If you have an appointment, school run or just want to finish your day slightly earlier on a Friday, go ahead! You have 4 surveys per week, so feel free to complete these when it is most suitable for you.

Job Description: 

• To liaise with clients on all their property needs. This includes responding to enquiries (phone calls and emails) within 24 hours. 
• Work in accordance with Standard Operating Procedure for Surveys and Inspections. 
• Provide expert knowledge and guidance for both clients and colleagues. 
• Review desktop studies for upcoming properties, at least 24 hours in advance in accordance with Standard Operating Procedure, with support from the wider team. 
• Undertake on-site inspections in accordance with Standard Operating Procedure for Surveys and Inspections. This includes, but is not limited to, taking photographs, damp meter readings, recording site notes, and completing Go Report. 
• Provide update for client, vendor, and agent wherever possible the same day. Remain available for ongoing queries and support. 
• Draft and proof-read all reports. 
• Ensure all reports have been externally proof-read prior to publication within 7 working days. 
• Uphold accurate record keeping in accordance with GDPR. 
• Ability to demonstrate exceptional customer service/ communication skills, including the ability to work collaboratively with a range of individuals. 
• Use initiative to collaborate with other local businesses to secure future work for the business, such as local estate agents, mortgage brokers, and solicitors etc. 
• Contribute to the development of the business and business practices to ensure continued improvement and innovation in services, always ensuring a client-centred approach. 
• Maintain accurate and relevant CPD in accordance with RICS guidelines. 
• Undertake any relevant education/ training as required by employer/ governing body. 
• Actively participate in at least one development review per annum. 

The right candidate will have/be:

1. RICS accredited (essential)
2. AssocRICS, MRICS / FRICS qualifications 
3. Demonstrable experience (essential) 
4. Full UK driving licence (required)
5. Comfortable with level 2 and 3 surveys (required)
6. Subject to DBS checks (required)
