Description

This is a full-time hybrid position with our HQ based in the Ribble Valley. As Senior Mechanical Estimator, you’ll manage day-to-day estimating tasks, analyse project requirements, prepare cost estimates, and collaborate with stakeholders to deliver accurate and timely submissions for tenders, private opportunities, and more.


Key Responsibilities


  • Managing the Estimating team
  • Prepare and analyse cost estimates for HVAC and mechanical projects
  • Conduct feasibility studies and cost-benefit analyses
  • Monitor project costs and ensure budget adherence
  • Collaborate with project teams to identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Review and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors
  • Evaluate and manage project risks related to cost control
  • Prepare progress reports and financial forecasts
  • Develop and issue programmes of work and risk assessments as needed
  • Prepare and submit quality documentation tailored to project requirements


Experience & Qualifications:


  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Estimating, Construction Management, or equivalent industry experience
  • Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator or similar role
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and cost structures
  • Proficient in cost estimating software (Trimble) and Excel
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities
  • Ability to build and maintain supplier and contractor relationships
  • Familiarity with various tender platforms
