About the job

Description

  • To support the Operations Teams and Logistics Managers to deliver efficiencies and service improvements, including continuous improvement activities in the following areas: Improving the client experience including proactive handling of comments and complaints; Regular benchmarking Exploring opportunities for collaboration across the construction industry; Maintaining contact with the market place to be aware of the latest trends and sector initiatives; Assisting project manager make Value for Money (VFM) choices when commissioning change to existing contracts; Drive process and contract efficiencies for the allocated portfolio of contracts  

 

  • Provide advice and ensure fit for purpose contracts are handed over to management. Commercially manage all supply chain and supplier performance activity within their contract portfolio, implementing sustainable solutions for the Company to generate cost savings and efficiency improvements.  

 

  • Develop and manage a portfolio of contracts and tenders that reflect clients’ needs and take into account of legislation, H&S, fraud prevention, sustainability and workforce issues in conjunction with operations manager assist and facilitate in all aspects of commercial contract portfolio procurement  

 

  • Deliver efficiency savings for the Company by adopting a strategic supplier performance management approach and working closely with sites to control and manage expenditure. Ensure that the strategy is understood and delivered through effective supplier and contract management across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders 

 

  • Designing, developing, implementing and refining contracts to identify and develop new contracts as per client specification and agree a programme of contracting activity to ensure that all contracts meet current legislation. 

 

  • Establish key external relationships with new and existing clients. Ideal Candidate  

 

  • Proven working experience as contract manager 
  • Record of successful contract management  
  • Demonstrable ability to lead and manage staff  
  • Proficient in legislation standards 
  • Excellent analytical, problem solving and organisational skills 
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects

  • SMSTS Cert  
  • IOSH Health and Safety  
  • First Aid at work 
  • Black CSCS card  
  • NVQ Level 6 / 7 Construction Contracting Operations Management
