Job Title: Project Manager - Grid, Solar and BESS infrastructure

Location: Tyne and Wear, Remote, UK Travel

Salary: £50,000 Plus PA DOE

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

TMS Grid are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join the growing team covering UK Wide sites.

This is a remote role with site visit required 1x a week and office visit 1x a month- ideal for candidates who would like to work mostly remote and happy to travel!

With a growing portfolio of major schemes and ambitious expansion plans, they are looking for experienced Project Managers who want to make an impact, take ownership and help shape the next phase of their journey.

TMS Grid delivers critical electrical infrastructure across the energy sector, supporting projects from construction through to commissioning and energisation. Founded in 2017, they have grown into a leading UK high-voltage engineering contractor, operating across 66kV to 400kV on nationally significant projects. 

Job Description:

• Coordinate design, procurement, construction, commissioning and handover activities 
• Drive project performance against safety, quality, programme and commercial objectives 
• Build strong relationships with DNOs, IDNOs, developers, consultants and supply chain partners 
• Lead project meetings, progress reviews and delivery workshops 
• Oversee installation, testing, commissioning and energisation activities 
• Lead engagement with DNOs including Northern Powergrid and other network operators 
• Identify and mitigate project risks to protect programme and commercial outcomes 
• Challenge existing processes and ways of working where improvements can be made 
• Support ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 management systems 

The Successful Candidate Should Have / Be:

• 3-5 years of experience delivering electrical infrastructure projects (essential)
• Proven experience managing ICP, EPC or utility infrastructure scheme (essential)
• Strong understanding of HV and LV electrical systems (essential)
• Experience managing multiple live projects simultaneously valued up to £15 million (essential)
• HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management or a related (essential)
• SMSTS, CSCS Card and full UK driving licence (essential)
• Grid connection and contestable works delivery (desirable)
• DNO, IDNO or ICP environments (desirable)
• NERS-accredited project delivery environments (desirable)
• Temporary Works Coordinator (TWC) Certification (desirable)
• APM, PRINCE2 or PMP Qualification (desirable)
• NEBOSH General Certificate (desirable)
• Authorised Person (AP) or Senior Authorised Person (SAP) experience (desirable)

1. £50,000- £65,000 annual salary DOE
2. Remote working model with 1 day per month in the office and 1 day per week on site -UK Wide
