Job Title: Assistant Quantity Surveyor / Estimator

Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire Region

Salary: £30,000-£33,000 PA + Car allowance/company car

Job Type: Permanent, Full Time

Working hours: 7:30-4:30 Mon-Thursday 7:30-3pm Friday

Thomas Niamh Contracting are looking to recruit an Assistant Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to join their Commercial Team in Wakefield.

Job Description

• Measurement, take offs, procurement of materials and subcontractors to complete tender submission using first principles where required
• Completing valuations and reporting to Commercial Manager and Director.
• Undertaking scheme budgets including material, labour and subcontractors
• Procurement of trade packages where required
• Prepare tender and subcontract documents, including bills of quantities.
• Certifying subcontractor including labour only subcontractor payments and wages
• Producing subcontractor instruction/variation reports
• Assisting Project team with financial implications of site progress decisions
• Evaluate tenders from contractors and subcontractors and, where appropriate, negotiate with the contractors
• Monitor budgets and produce forecasts for current projects.

The Successful Candidate Should Have / Be:

1. Has or is working towards a recognised degree or equivalent in Quantity Surveying.
2. 1-1.5 years experience in a similar role
3. Skilled in cost control, estimating and measurement.
4. UK driving licence
