Job Title: Site Manager - Joinery Projects

Location: London sites and (when required) Bramling, Kent 

Salary: Between £45,000 - £60,000 PA depending on experience

Job Type: Permanent, Full time (Monday-Friday, 7:30-5pm)

Role purpose:

The Site Manager will plan, organise and control all site installation activities, ensuring their completion within cost plan, in accordance with the Contract programme and to the necessary Specification & Quality with support from the Project Manager.


Job description: 

  1.  To assist the Project Manager to prepare detailed project plans for the installation works, showing milestones for completion of items. To continuously review the project plan, implementing control measures as and when necessary. Reporting any variance to the Project Manager immediately.
  2. To assist the Commercial Manager and Project Manager in producing interim applications for project works, assisting in the preparation of final accounts for projects
  3. To record and action site VO’s and SI’s and ensure Denne records are kept up to date and communicated with the Project Manager and Commercial Manager.
  4. To carry out site surveys to assist setting out as required.
  5. To communicate with the main contractor for full deliverance of the project, ensuring a full and complete set of records are maintained.
  6. To attend site meetings with the main contractor and Client professional team and maintain and close out snagging lists.
  7. To ensure that all site operatives receive the correct site inductions held by the customer.
  8. To assist the Project Manager to prepare the necessary method statements and risk assessments before the works are carried out. To communicate these method statements and risk assessment to the installations team.
  9. To prepare in conjunction with the Document Controller and Project Manager, operation and maintenance manuals ensuring that they are completed on time, in-full and in-line with the customer’s requirements.
  10. To ensure that projects are completed within the budget. To instigate control measures where projects are running outside of budget.
  11. To attend meetings as necessary with the main contractors quantity surveyor in order to agree variation/final accounts.
  12. To ensure all extra works are recorded and that the correct authority Site instruction is obtained before works are carried out.
  13. To ensure that all chargeable extra works are notified to the Commercial Manager for them to include within interim applications within a timely manner.
  14. To ensure that all installation works are carried out with compliance to all relevant CDM and Health & Safety legislation.
  15. To ensure all department documentation is completed accurately and in accordance with company policy ensuring that all documentation is finished within the required time.
  16. Undertake any other duties as assigned by your Line Manager.




The successful candidate should have/be:


  • 5 years experience as a site manager
  • Relevant Bench Joinery Experience/Qualification
  • SMSTS Qualification
  • CSCS Card (Level 7)
  • Confident and calm under pressure
  • Professional
  • Team focussed
  • Organised, disciplined and self motivated
  • Quality focused with an inquisitive and open mind
  • Flexible, with a can-do attitude
