We have an opportunity for an experienced HSE and Quality Systems Engineer to support the directors within Health Safety and Environmental and drive the adoption of a company IMS system.

Job Purpose

As the HSE and Quality Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting the Directors in ensuring health and safety, environmental best practice is being implemented on-site, and driving the adoption of the Company IMS system. You will also carry out quality control inspections to ensure high standards are kept.


You'll be responsible for

  • Promoting SHEQ best practice across the workforce. Ensuring health and safety, environmental and quality standards are met on-site
  • Promoting the use of the Organisation IMS across all departments
  • Investigating accidents / incidents, supporting in the identification of root cause and compiling appropriate reports.
  • Preparation of risk assessments / method statements, Project SHEQ plans and conducting site audits.
  • Suggesting improvements to working processes
  • Ensuring staff understand safety procedures
  • Maintain and update SHEQ data for the preparation of Management Information


Desirable skills / Knowledge

  • Experience and working knowledge of SHEQ / Compliance Matters in a Civil engineering or construction setting.
  • Professional accreditation (IOSH / NEBOSH)
  • Hold a valid CSCS accreditation (desirable)
