Site Manager – Reading – Commercial New Build SchemeSalary: £45,000 – £55,000 + Car Allowance + Pension
Location: Hampshire / Surrey / Berkshire
We are partnering with a respected Hampshire‑based main contractor who, due to sustained growth and an £8 million+ commercial new build starting near Reading in the next couple of months, are looking to appoint an experienced Site Manager as soon as possible.
This Site Manager – Reading opportunity will see you working on a high‑quality new build commercial scheme, reporting directly into a site‑based Project Manager. With a clear long‑term development plan in place, the successful Site Manager will be positioned for progression into a more senior role over the next few years.
Company OverviewThis contractor delivers projects typically ranging from £1 million to £15 million across multiple sectors, including:

• Commercial
• Industrial
• Education
• Healthcare
• Residential (selected schemes)

You will be joining a structured and well‑established regional contractor operating across Hampshire, Surrey, and Berkshire, with long‑term opportunities to work on further schemes in and around Reading.
Key Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager with day‑to‑day site operations
• Oversee subcontractors, site logistics, and programme delivery
• Ensure high standards of health & safety compliance
• Deliver works on time, to specification, and to quality expectations
• Coordinate with commercial and technical teams
• Build and maintain strong relationships on site

About You

• Experienced Site Manager or strong Assistant Site Manager ready to step up
• Background in new build construction (commercial experience highly beneficial)
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Proactive, dependable, and quality‑focused
• SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid preferred
