Description

A specialist steelwork and architectural metalwork contractor based in Leicestershire is currently seeking an Estimator to join their busy steel shop team. This role focuses on a mix of architectural metalwork, such as stairways and balustrades, alongside structural builder beams.

Start Date: ASAP
Salary: Up to £50,000 per annum (DOE)
Hours: 08:00 AM - 05:00 PM (Full-time, Office-based)
Contract: Permanent
Duties:

• Preparing cost estimates for architectural metalwork (stairways, balustrades, handrails).
• Estimating for structural steelwork and builder beams.
• Reviewing customer drawings and specifications to produce material take-offs.
• Calculating labour, fabrication, and finishing costs.
• Obtaining quotes from material suppliers and specialist subcontractors.
• Liaising with the production team to ensure feasibility and lead times.

Requirements:

• Proven experience estimating within the architectural metalwork or structural steel sector.
• Solid understanding of fabrication processes for stairs and balustrades.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings accurately.
• Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
