Freelance Site Manager - Sussex

Site Manager – SussexPosition: Site Manager
Rate: £260 per day
Location: Sussex
We’re working in partnership with a respected contractor delivering a laboratory storage facility refurbishment valued at £500k. This opportunity for an experienced Site Manager to lead a 12-week contract on a technically focused scheme with a strong M&E bias. This role offers the chance to take full responsibility for site operations, client liaison, and delivery of a high-quality project from setup through to completion.
About the RoleAs Site Manager, you’ll oversee day-to-day site activities, ensuring the smooth running of operations and maintaining strong communication with the client. You’ll manage subcontractors, monitor progress against the programme and budget, and ensure compliance with health & safety standards throughout the project.
Key Responsibilities

• Full site setup and management of daily operations
• Act as the main point of contact for the client
• Oversee subcontractors and ensure quality standards
• Monitor the programme, budget, and resolve site issues promptly.
• Drive health & safety compliance and maintain documentation

Requirements

• Previous experience managing refurbishment projects
• Strong understanding of M&E systems
• SMSTS
• Excellent organisational and leadership skills
• Ability to start December and commit for 12 weeks

• Duration: 12 weeks
• Rate: £260 per day (no CIS)
• Start: December
