Estimator

Location: Wakefield, West Yorkshire

Salary: £30,000 – £38,000 (depending on experience)

Hours: Full-time, permanent with some hybrid working.

About the Role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Estimator to join a well-established and expanding manufacturer based in West Yorkshire.

You’ll join a dynamic commercial team, working alongside experienced estimators to prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates for a wide range of projects. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with 1–2 years’ experience in estimating or commercial support, ideally within construction, or manufacturing.

The role is 80% office-based, with occasional site visits and client meetings.

Key Responsibilities

• Review client enquiries, drawings, and specifications
• Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates
• Source and evaluate supplier/subcontractor quotations
• Collaborate with design, production, and project teams
• Prepare and issue quotations and tender documents
• Maintain pricing records and supplier databases
• Support improvements in estimating processes

About you:

• Degree in Maths, Built Environment, Quantity Surveying, or similar
• 1–2 years’ experience in estimating or commercial roles
• Strong numerical and analytical skills
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
• Proficiency in Excel and estimating/job-costing software
• Excellent communication and organisational skills

Desirable:

• Experience with CAD or design software
• Understanding of Health & Safety and CDM regulations
