Berkshire Talent Partnership is representing a leading UK-based independent power producer (IPP) delivering behind-the-meter renewable energy solutions to industrial and blue-chip clients. The company helps clients eliminate emissions and strengthen ESG performance through dedicated, private-wire clean power, without CapEx and with minimal disruption. Their fully funded, land-led model provides cost-stable green energy.

We are seeking an experienced, entrepreneurial Project Manager to join the team. This pivotal role will oversee high-value, capital-intensive projects from inception through to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and in line with quality, safety, and sustainability standards. You will work closely with stakeholders, senior leadership, investors, and development partners, driving both project delivery and process improvement within a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities:

Pre-Construction:

• Drive projects from conceptual phase to “ready-to-build” (RTB) stage.
• Identify and resolve constraints including permitting, grid connection, and land acquisition.
• Prepare tender documentation and evaluate EPC and supplier proposals.
• Build and refine in-house project management frameworks and processes.
• Develop strong relationships with regulators, utilities, and planning authorities.
• Conduct feasibility assessments and manage pre-construction risks.
• Oversee grid connection studies and liaise with DNOs/Transmission Operators.
• Negotiate contracts for equipment supply, logistics, and construction.

Construction Phase:

• Manage EPC contractors, ensuring adherence to schedule, budget, and quality standards.
• Conduct regular site inspections and enforce Health & Safety standards.
• Review and approve QA/QC documentation and commissioning processes.
• Coordinate communications among contractors, suppliers, and internal teams.
• Track and report milestones, manage variations, and address unforeseen issues.
• Ensure alignment with environmental and sustainability objectives.
• Support handover and project closeout with complete documentation and approvals.

Requirements:

• Degree-qualified in a technical discipline (BEng/BSc); further education preferred.
• Ideally, working towards or holding a professional qualification (e.g., APM).
• Minimum 3 years’ experience delivering complex renewable energy projects from concept to completion.
• Proven track record managing projects on time, on budget, and in line with safety and environmental standards.
• Experience implementing procurement strategies, contractual frameworks, and negotiations.
• Proficient in project management and document control tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera, EDMS).
• Strong communicator, able to engage with c-suite executives, investors, and boards.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with ability to innovate and drive process improvements.
• Comfortable working collaboratively with internal and external subject matter experts in a fast-paced environment.
