Project Manager – Main/Principal Contractor

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead projects from inception through to completion. Projects typically start with structural works and progress through to fit-out, so the ideal candidate will be capable of managing all construction phases.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage all phases of a construction project from structural works to fit-out.
• Oversee structural alterations, temporary works, steel installations, below-ground drainage, new slabs, and the building envelope.
• Manage and coordinate subcontractors and internal teams to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and to budget.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and quality standards across all project stages.
• Maintain regular communication with clients, consultants, and senior management.
• Identify risks and issues early, implementing effective mitigation strategies.

Person Specification:

• Proven experience as a Project Manager on large-scale projects involving structural works and fit-out.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.
• Excellent knowledge of construction processes, including temporary works, steel installation, and below-ground services.
• Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proactive, hands-on, and capable of driving projects from start to finish.
• Relevant qualifications (e.g., degree in Construction Management, Chartered status, or equivalent) preferred.
