Project Manager – Defence Projects

4 days per week on-site **Must be eligible for SC Clearance**

Copello are delighted to be partnered with a leading Defence and Technology organisation near High Wycombe, seeking a Project Manager to support the successful delivery of major, high-profile engineering projects within a secure and dynamic environment.

This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring project manager to gain hands-on experience delivering technically advanced systems within a structured project delivery function. You’ll support the end-to-end lifecycle of critical programmes, working alongside experienced professionals in engineering, operations, and commercial functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, coordination, and delivery of complex, multi-phase engineering projects.
• Support senior project managers with tracking schedules, budgets, and project milestones.
• Liaise with internal teams and external partners to ensure smooth communication and delivery alignment.
• Contribute to project documentation, reporting, and risk management activities.
• Monitor project progress and support in identifying potential risks, delays, or issues.
• Help coordinate resources, track deliverables, and maintain accurate project records.
• Participate in regular team meetings and stakeholder updates.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the project delivery team.

Skills & Experience

• Some experience or exposure to engineering or technical projects within defence.
• Strong organisational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, secure environment on sensitive and high-value programmes.
• Familiarity with project management tools or methodologies (e.g. APM, PRINCE2) is a plus.
• Proficient in MS Office applications including Excel, Word, and Project.

Desirable Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline.
• Awareness of working in secure or regulated environments (e.g. aerospace, defence, or communications).
• Enthusiasm to learn and grow within a structured and supportive project delivery team.
