Project Manager – Main Contractor | Hertfordshire | MOD, Pharmaceutical & Commercial

Location: Hertfordshire (Office & Site Based)

Salary: £90,000 to £110,000 plus package / £400-£500 per day

Sectors: MOD, Pharmaceutical, Commercial

We are a growing Hertfordshire-based main contractor with an expanding portfolio of complex and high-value projects across the MOD, pharmaceutical, and commercial sectors. As part of our growth, we’re looking to appoint an experienced Project Manager who is process-driven, professional, and looking to build a long-term career with a forward-thinking company that actively promotes progression from within.


The Role:

You will take full responsibility for the successful planning, execution, and delivery of projects, ensuring high standards of quality, health & safety, and client satisfaction. Working closely with a supportive leadership team (including direct involvement with the company owner), you'll be instrumental in shaping our project delivery processes as we scale.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the full project lifecycle from pre-construction through to completion
  • Liaise effectively with Tier 1 clients, consultants, and internal teams
  • Oversee project programmes, ensuring milestones are met within budget and time constraints
  • Implement and uphold robust processes across quality, safety, and compliance
  • Manage and mentor site teams and subcontractors
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and innovation in project delivery
  • Report regularly on progress, challenges, and solutions to senior leadership


About You:

  • Proven experience delivering construction projects in the MOD, pharmaceutical, or commercial sectors
  • Comfortable working with Tier 1 clients and managing high expectations
  • Strong organisational and process management skills
  • Excellent communication and leadership qualities
  • A team player who is invested in building a long-term future within a growing business
  • SMSTS, CSCS (Black/Gold), and First Aid (desirable)
  • Security clearance (or eligibility) for MOD projects is a plus
