Description

Our client is a specialist glazing, window, door and curtain walling contractor, delivering aluminium and PVC window, door, and curtain wall systems across commercial, residential and refurbishment projects.

They are now seeking an Estimator to join the team, based in Tamworth (with working from home and on-site travel across the region).

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare accurate cost estimates, quotations, and tender proposals for window, door, curtain walling, and associated glazing works
• Analyse project drawings, specifications, and scope to capture all costs (materials, labour, subcontractors, plant, etc.)
• Liaise with suppliers, subcontractors, and internal teams to source competitive rates
• Conduct site visits and surveys as needed to validate assumptions and measurements
• Produce take-offs, rate buildups, and risk allowances
• Support pre-contract negotiation and contract award processes
• Maintain estimating databases, price libraries, and historical cost data
• Monitor bid pipelines and report progress metrics to leadership
• Work closely with design, commercial, and operations teams to ensure estimates align with delivery strategies

Candidate Requirements

Essential:

• Proven experience as an Estimator in glazing, fenestration, windows/doors or curtain walling (or related façade trades)
• Strong knowledge of glazing systems, profiles, aluminium / PVC window and door assemblies
• Ability to read drawings, specifications, and architectural details
• Skilled in quantification, rate buildups, take-offs, risk assessments
• Good commercial acumen and negotiation skills
• Ability to work from home and travel to client sites in and around Tamworth / Midlands area
• Excellent communication, organisation, and analytical skills

Desirable:

• Experience in curtain walling and façade systems
• Familiarity with estimating software / BIM models
• Understanding of thermal, structural, and performance glazing standards
• Experience in commercial contracts and supply chain management

Package & Working Arrangement

• Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum
• Hybrid working (home and site visits)
