Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the Charge in Subcontracting Growth - Identify exciting new opportunities, negotiate competitive pricing, and swiftly set up contracts that hit our profit targets. Be the driving force behind expanding our subcontracting footprint!
  • Champion Safety & Risk Management - Ensure every contract aligns with safety standards and policies, expertly managing risks to keep our team and projects secure.
  • Build Strong Internal Partnerships - Forge and nurture positive relationships with internal teams - key accounts, directors, and colleagues - to fuel business growth and elevate customer satisfaction.
  • Get Closer to Customers - Visit client sites to gain firsthand insights, understand their needs, and discover new avenues for growth and service excellence.
  • Offer Expert Commercial Guidance - Provide strategic advice on contracts and commercial matters to the Head of Key Accounts and leadership team, ensuring agreements are both profitable and aligned with our goals.
  • Facilitate Clear Communication - Keep all stakeholders - Director of Customer Engagement, Depot Managers, and others - informed about customer needs and service updates for seamless operations.
  • Collaborate for Success - Work hand-in-hand with teams to boost business, enhance customer experiences, and uphold our commitments to safety and profitability.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement - Monitor contract performance, identify opportunities for optimisation, and implement changes to maximise profitability while minimising risks.


Safety Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all subcontractors and suppliers comply with our safety policies and procedures.
  • Conduct regular site visits to monitor safety standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the compliance team to develop and implement safety initiatives.
  • Ensure all contracts include specific safety requirements and enforce them personally throughout the contract duration.


Financial Responsibilities:

  • Negotiate contracts and subcontracts that meet our profitability targets and minimise financial risk.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimise contract profitability and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with our Finance team to ensure accurate forecasting and reporting of contract financials.
  • Identify areas for cost savings and implement changes to improve contract profitability.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Proven experience in a similar role, ideally within the construction industry
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to negotiate and communicate effectively.
  • A strong understanding of contract management, safety regulations, and fiscal management principle.
