TH Recruit are proud to be supporting one of the largest house builders in the UK. We are seeking an experienced Engineer to join their Yorkshire regional team, based in York.

The Design and Technical teams play a vital role in all aspects of housing design and innovation, from researching cost-effective materials to driving sustainability and navigating evolving legislation. Projects range from refurbishing existing buildings to creating new developments, each with unique challenges to solve.

Most team members come from architectural or engineering backgrounds and have opportunities to gain expertise in both design and project management within a stimulating environment.

Role Overview

Reporting to the Engineering Manager or Technical Director, you will oversee the design of infrastructure and groundwork packages for residential developments. Key responsibilities include:

• Procuring service records and infrastructure requirements for new developments, ensuring timely payment to support build programmes.
• Overseeing designs produced by external consultants for foundations, estate roads, sewers, and associated agreements (S38, S104, S278).
• Securing adoption agreements and managing bonds efficiently in line with development programmes.
• Supporting the procurement of structural designs for superstructure components.
• Reviewing consultant designs to ensure value engineering, statutory compliance, and best practice.
• Liaising with colleagues to discharge building regulations and planning conditions.
