Public Sector Programme | Outside IR35 | Mostly Remote | Start ASAP

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong Local Authority background to join a high-profile government-funded programme.

This is a key delivery role in the final phase of a two-year initiative, due to conclude in March 2026. With strategy already covered by a Strategic Lead, we are looking for an excellent hands-on delivery-focused Project Manager to ensure milestones are achieved, deadlines are met, and programme outcomes are delivered on time.

Contract Details

IR35: Outside IR35

Rate: Negotiable dependent on experience)

Start: ASAP – candidates with short notice preferred

Duration: Until March 2026

Location: Primarily remote, with very occasional travel to London Hub (Not essential)

Rate: Negotiable, competitive day rate

The Role

• Drive delivery of programme outputs, resources, and financial objectives
• Set and manage milestones, ensuring progress across the programme
• Support the Programme Manager to maintain delivery momentum (no line management responsibility)
• Lead bi-weekly milestone meetings with a team of 7, holding delivery to account
• Focus on governance, reporting, and process management, with technical specialists already in place

What We’re Looking For

• Proven track record in Project Management within Local Authorities or Combined Authorities (essential)
• Experience delivering large knowledge/product-based public sector programmes (not capital build projects for example)
• Strong governance, process, and reporting expertise
• Delivery-focused mindset with the ability to hit the ground running and keep complex programmes on track
