Project Manager

Isle of Wight / Southampton

I am currently recruiting on behalf of a leading organisation in the defence sector who are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join their Programmes team in the Isle of Wight / Southampton. This is an excellent opportunity to take ownership of high-profile projects and play a key role in delivering innovative solutions within a highly regulated environment.

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading projects from planning through to execution, ensuring delivery to scope, schedule, and budget. You’ll act as the main point of contact for the customer, coordinating internal teams and external partners, while ensuring compliance with security and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities for the Project Manager Job:

• Develop and manage project plans, budgets, and resources.
• Drive project delivery in line with technical and programme requirements.
• Manage stakeholders, including customers, subcontractors, and cross-functional teams.
• Identify risks and implement effective mitigation strategies.
• Apply Earned Value Management to monitor performance.
• Collaborate with engineering teams on technical queries and oversight.

Skills & Experience required for the Project Manager job:

• Formal Project Management qualification (e.g. APM, PRINCE2, PMP) or equivalent experience.
• Background in delivering projects within a regulated, technical sector (defence experience highly desirable).
• Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency with project management methodologies and tools.
• Eligible for UK Security Clearance.
