Description
You are a highly skilled and experienced professional in the field of fire safety, possessing a Nebosh Fire Safety Certificate or equivalent and membership in a reputable Third Party Accreditation Scheme. You have 2-3 years of experience in conducting fire risk assessments, specifically within residential settings, and are well-versed in PAS 79. Your expertise spans fire safety management, strategic planning, and risk mitigation, with the ability to provide clear reports and detailed written communication. You are adept with IT systems, can analyze data effectively, and have a strong understanding of various evacuation strategies. You excel in communication, both verbal and written, enabling effective interactions with residents, senior managers, contractors, and colleagues. A positive attitude towards fire safety and commitment to professional development define your approach, along with a genuine desire to meet and exceed customer expectations. You are organized, able to prioritize, and work both independently and as part of a team. Additionally, you hold a full driving license, are willing to use your own vehicle for work travel, and either possess or are willing to undergo a full DBS check.
This role involves delivering exceptional fire risk assessment services for domestic housing within the London Borough of Hackney, ensuring compliance with health and safety legislation and internal council procedures. You will conduct type 1, 3, and 4 fire risk assessments, managing related surveys and inspections. The responsibility extends to advising on fire safety strategies, participating in accident prevention and fire investigations, and collaborating with internal and external partners including enforcement agencies. Your duties include setting service delivery standards, achieving KPI targets, and managing contractor coordination for intrusive inspections. You will lead on developing and maintaining fire safety documentation, policies, and strategies, ensuring legislative compliance and best practices are followed. Your role will also involve contributing to the development of fire safety-related policies and procedures to foster a positive risk management culture. Additionally, you will be instrumental in investigating fire incidents, identifying root causes, and recommending improvements. The role demands maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction, adherence to directorate and council-wide values, and upholding professional integrity. You are expected to contribute to continuous learning and improvement, support equality and diversity initiatives, and actively promote the council's vision.
