Construction Manager – BESS, South West

We are looking for a Construction Manager to oversee the delivery of one of the UK’s largest planned Battery Energy Storage sites. You will be working directly for the client who are a market leader in the renewable energy sector. This opportunity will be to oversee a Project in the South West of England, and then subsequently, a pipeline of further projects across Southern / Central England.

The successful candidate will take full responsibility and accountability for the safe, timely delivery and coordination of site construction, installation, test and commissioning elements on the assigned project.

Responsibilities:

• Construction Management of the assigned project, including all site activity from preconstruction through to delivery stage
• Having a strong site presence to inspect works, manage the packages, site teams and sub-contractors effectively
• Ensure all health and safety measures are followed throughout
• Liaising with the Senior Management team on the project’s progress
• Owning the review of timings, labour, risk and project plans to ensure work stays on track
• Providing technical input throughout the process

The successful candidate will have:

• Black CSCS Card, either a degree in Construction Management/related discipline or have worked their way up through experience
• 3+ years of experience managing packages, subcontractors and project delivery teams on-site, preferably with experience in electrical works
• Strong communication skills with the ability to motivate those around you
• Experience of complex projects with values north of £10m within the Construction, Energy or Power industries
• Background of problem solving and using initiative
