Job Title: Freelance Project Manager – Civils (Groundworks & Steel Frame)

Location: Gloucestershire

Contract Type: Freelance

Rate: Up to £350 per day

Duration: Approx. 40 weeks

About the Company:

Our client is a well-established main contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality construction projects across the UK. They are currently seeking a Freelance Project Manager to oversee civils packages, including groundworks and steel frame, on a project in Gloucestershire.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage the civils packages, including groundworks and steel frame, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.
• Coordinate with sub-contractors, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Monitor and control project costs, making sure the work stays within the allocated budget.
• Ensure all health, safety, and environmental regulations are adhered to on-site.
• Provide regular project updates to senior management and key stakeholders.
• Maintain effective communication with all parties to mitigate potential risks and resolve issues promptly.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, ensuring that milestones are achieved on time.
• Oversee quality control to ensure that the work meets or exceeds the expected standards.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Project Manager on civils projects, specifically groundworks and steel frame.
• Strong understanding of site management and construction processes.
• Ability to manage multiple contractors and liaise with stakeholders effectively.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• CSCS, SMSTS, and First Aid certifications.
• Previous experience working for a main contractor is essential.
• Proficient in project management software and MS Office Suite.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
