New Position - Quantity Surveyor Position: Quantity SurveyorLocation: Manchester, Birmingham, TewkesburyRole: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 40 Hours We are currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join our team based in either our Manchester or Birmingham office working on a hybrid agreement. You will be someone who can maximise the successful running and commercial control of each project, accurate management of projects through budgeting and reporting enabling each to be delivered in accordance with contract conditions in the most cost-effective manner possible.Our ideal candidate must be comfortable with some travel and time spent at our HQ in Tewkesbury as required, but not frequently. What are the main responsibilities of the Quantity Surveyor?The Quantity Surveyor will prepare tender and contract documents, undertake cost analysis and assist in establishing a client's requirements. Whilst undertaking feasibility studies, preparing and issuing cost models where requests arise. The role will also require but is not exclusive to: - Undertake cash flow forecast on projects of a complex programme - Perform risk, value management and cost control- Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks - Prepare and analyse costings for tender - Allocate work to subcontractors - Provide advice on contractual claims - Analyse outcomes and write detailed progress reports - Value completed work and arrange payments - Maintain awareness of the different building contracts in current use - Month end reporting and financial reconciliation of cost & value What would the ideal candidate look like?- Experience of the full life cycle of a number of construction projects, involving the commercial management of the project and the staff / operatives working on it. -Time served as a Quantity Surveyor. - Pro-active good at planning ahead as far as possible as the project progresses, checking back to plans/programmes regularly - Strong sense of achievement; able to drive projects forward, expects good standards of work and able to overcome barriers/ solve problems. - Organised, good at time management and prioritisation of work. 4598022
