About the client Our client is a distinguished Mechanical and Electrical contractor renowned for their meticulous approach to Design and Installation across residential, commercial, and retail sectors. Since 1997, they have built a sterling reputation in the UK construction industry, fostering strong partnerships with major contractors such as Barratt, L&Q and Taylor Whimpey. With some impressive newly won residential projects, our client is looking for a skilled MEP quantity surveyor for their team. About the Role My client is looking for an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their established commercial team, with projects primarily based in West and Central London. This role will play a crucial part in project management, working closely with site teams and clients. Responsibilities include detailed cost management, careful handling of contractual matters, and ensuring projects meet the company's high standards of quality and efficiency. As an M&E Quantity Surveyor, you'll play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial aspects of projects. Your responsibilities include: Spearheading all commercial activities throughout the project lifecycle. Assisting in compiling tender bids to ensure competitive pricing. Engaging actively with subcontractors and suppliers during project initiation. Reviewing and negotiating contracts with clients, backed by senior management support. Negotiating and placing subcontract agreements with specialist subcontractors. Preparing and submitting monthly interim valuations to clients as per contract terms. Managing, valuing, and agreeing on contract variations. Ensuring compliant payment notices are prepared and submitted to subcontractors. Managing and agreeing on variations with subcontractors. Producing and presenting detailed financial reports monthly, adhering to company schedules. Finalizing accounts upstream and downstream to ensure smooth project closure. Candidate Requirements Minimum of 3 years of experience in Electrical Quantity Surveying Experience working on M&E packages up to 5 million. ONC, HNC, BSc, or similar qualification Excellent communication skills and the ability to attend client and site meetings.
