Job Title – Assistant Quantity Surveyor Location – Cambridge (office based with 1 day a week on site) Type – Permanent Role Salary: £45 – 50k package A chance to join one of the fastest growing Main Contractors in the UK. Our client has doubled in size, year on year for the last 8 years – they are hot right now Current turnover sits at £405m and their order book for the next 2-5 years is knockout. With the number of projects awarded constantly growing, we have been asked to supply a number of strong QS’ to drive the commercial management of these works. One of these roles is within their Life Science Division, we are looking for an Assistant / Project level QS to manage projects ranging from £5m - £45m in value. Quantity Surveyor responsibilities: - Cost valuations with sub-contractors. - Negotiation with sub-contractors. - Procurement of all supply items and subcontractor packages. - Preparation of interim valuations. - Chairing site and client progress meetings. - Managing interim payments to sub-contractors. - Regularly updating projected final accounts. - Recruiting, mentoring and leading junior Commercial staff. - Regularly updating and managing cash flow forecasts. - Preparation and agreement of all final account matters. - Monthly cost/value reconciliation. - Pricing of all contract variations. Quantity Surveyor experience required: - Minimum 3 years Quantity Surveyor experience. - Tier 1 Main Contractor experience. - Experience of managing projects ranging from £5-15m in value. - Driven, enthusiastic, ambitious. - Degree educated or similar. - Strong communication / reporting / IT skills.
