Overall responsibility for the quantity surveying function and commercial performance of complex and significant (greater than £1m value) contracts, including maximising working capital at a contract level. Ensuring contracts maximise revenue and margin and comply with contractual requirements. Key accountabilities The Senior Quantity Surveyor is responsible, in conjunction with the Operations personnel, for: The financial management and performance of all allocated complex and significant (greater than £1m value) contracts. Measurement Change management Formal contractual notifications Negotiation of acceptable/favourable Contract terms Claim management/mitigation Responsibility to ensure that revenue is promptly applied for and collected in line with the terms of the contract Expected to operate with a degree of autonomy and maturity. To assist in the preparation of quotations and timely application of price increases. The role holder is expected: To comply with all aspects of the Heidelberg Materials Compliance Policy. To ensure that all the business/operations are performed in accordance with instructions and procedures and in such a way to prevent any fraudulent activities taking place. To comply with the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 and to observe the requirements of the Company Safety Policy and other relevant legislation. To proactively manage health & safety of employees to continuously improve the company's health & safety performance. To update all areas of knowledge as required to carry out the job with maximum effectiveness and to attend training/development courses as and when required. To comply will all aspects of the HR Policies and Procedures of the Company. Education/Qualification Degree in Quantity surveying Highways Environment.
