Candidate required: Quantity Surveyor Job Type: Permanent Start date: ASAP Industry: Construction professionals South Location: Portsmouth Salary & package dependant on experience: £DOE Package Job Summary: On behalf of our client, ITS (Construction Professionals South) are searching for a Quantity Surveyor to join a commercial refurbishment contractor based near Portsmouth. The Quantity Surveyor will play a crucial role in managing all costs related to their construction projects. The ideal candidate will ensure that project budgets are adhered to, and value for money is achieved without compromising on quality. This position requires a thorough understanding of the construction process and strong analytical skills. Key Responsibilities: Conduct feasibility studies and risk analysis for projects. Manage and monitor project costs to ensure compliance with the budget. Evaluate tenders from contractors and subcontractors, and negotiate contracts. Assess, measure, and value the work done on-site. Prepare and present detailed reports, analyses, and progress updates. Manage contractual relationships and resolve any disputes that may arise. Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure compliance with design specifications. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and other construction professionals. Advise on procurement strategies and manage procurement processes. Maintain awareness of the latest construction technologies and industry trends. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Requirements: Professional accreditation (e.g., RICS, CIOB) is preferred. Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor in the construction industry. Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and legal guidelines. Excellent numerical and analytical skills Exceptional communication and negotiation skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
