Description

Are you a Quantity Surveyor experienced in commercial projects working for main contractors? Do you have a good knowledge of the construction industry? If so, an established company based in the Witham area will be keen to hear about you. Duties: Prepare cost estimates for a variety of construction projects. Obtain prices from suppliers and subcontractors. Complete and submit tenders. Monitor costs and financial progress throughout each project. Manage and administer sub-contractor accounts identifying areas to improve margin. Prepare and issue variation cost forecasts. Conduct regular site visits to assess progress, verify quantities and prepare monthly valuations for the client. Attend meetings with clients and architects as required. Support other members of the commercial team. Experience: Construction/Quantity Surveying qualifications preferable or extensive experience would be required Experience of working on NHS Trust contracts would be preferable Must have excellent time management skills, with ability to work to tight deadlines and manage own project workload. Proficiency in MS Office particularly Excel is essential Must have effective communications skills and excellent attention to detail. A knowledge and understanding of the building and construction industry is prerequisite for this role.
