We are working on a fantastic opportunity for a talented Quantity Surveyor to join our client in the East Midlands. About the role The successful candidate will work as part of our talented commercial team, and offer support to the MQS or SQS. They will be expected to be hands on, manage specific schemes whilst managing/supporting AQS/TQSs when required. The candidate should be able to carry out a range of quantity surveying duties including day to day cost control, cash management, subcontractor management, risk management, financial reporting (CVR/PPR), preparation in valuations (internal/external), record keeping and general administration, The position will involve working within a busy Quantity Surveying department on new build and refurbishment schemes, the specific scheme is Timber Frame Apartments contracting under a JCT for our HA client. The contract value is £15m. About you The ideal candidate should have a proven track record in quantity surveying within the residential sector ideally on new build schemes along with a knowledge and understanding of refurbishment works. Excellent communication skills are critical to this role and the candidate must be able to adapt within a committed and talented team that exists. The role will involve liaison with internal customers, clients and supply chain. The successful candidate should have;- A track record in commercial management from within a recognised contracting organisation. Experience of either new build contracting. Understanding of various Contract forms. Be a competent negotiator who can agree rates/prices without compromising company margins. Have a good knowledge in terms of regulations, current materials, rates, prices along with good commercial awareness. Be an excellent communicator The ability to understand and complete the CVR process. The client is part of a national group of companies and the salary and benefits package will be competitive and commensurate with that of a large and successful construction and regeneration business
