Location: Cambridge, UK Salary: £75,000 - £95,000 per annum Sector: Healthcare & Educational Projects Project Value: £5-£30 million Contract Type: Permanent Start Date: Early 2025 (accommodating up to 3 months' notice period) Working Arrangement: Flexible working (with a balance of office/site and remote working) Benefits: Competitive benefits package, including pension, healthcare, car allowance, and bonus Role Overview: We are seeking an experienced Managing Quantity Surveyor to join a leading main contractor based in Cambridge. The successful candidate will oversee healthcare and educational projects ranging from £5 million to £30 million. With a focus on managing cost, contracts, and ensuring timely project delivery, you will play a pivotal role in project success. The role offers flexible working arrangements and an excellent benefits package. Key Responsibilities: Lead all commercial activities across multiple projects in the healthcare and educational sectors. Manage the quantity surveying team and provide mentoring to junior QSs. Oversee and ensure compliance with contractual obligations, including NEC and JCT contracts. Prepare accurate cost reports, forecasts, and final accounts for clients. Actively contribute to procurement strategies and supplier negotiations. Conduct regular site visits, ensuring work is progressing to agreed budgets and timelines. Identify and mitigate project risks, handling any variations or changes. Work closely with the project delivery teams and ensure collaboration across departments. Provide senior management with regular commercial updates. Qualifications & Experience: MRICS or equivalent qualification. Strong track record as a Managing Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor in the main contracting environment. Experience working on healthcare and/or educational projects. Proficiency in managing projects valued between £5-£30 million. Excellent knowledge of NEC and JCT contracts. Ability to manage teams and work collaboratively with various project stakeholders. Strong financial acumen and commercial awareness. Benefits: Competitive salary (£75,000 - £95,000) depending on experience.
