Mitchell & Urwin Brickwork, Scaffold and Manufacturing specialists are a family run business which has been established since 1996, working with some of the UK’s leading house builders to create the perfect homes for their customers. ​ Due to a period of growth, we are now seeking to appoint a Trainee / Apprentice Quantity Surveyor at our office based at Ferrybridge, West Yorkshire . reporting to the Commercial Manager and working as part of a close knit department we are looking for a proactive, talented and ambitious individual to join our team. ​ This is a great opportunity within the Construction industry, in this position the successful candidate will have the opportunity to get involved in all stages of the build programme and undertake duties such as: being responsible for managing site budgets including invoicing material call offs calculating price variations site visits to monitor subcontractor payments working closely with site teams and clients building and maintaining excellent relationships with all stakeholders ​ If you are to be the successful applicant, you will need to demonstrate excellent communication skills, strong numeracy, literacy and IT skills, the ability to work to tight deadlines and work well within a team. We are open to applications from all candidates educated to a minimum of A level standard or equivalent. You will need to have an interest in the construction industry and be willing to work towards a qualification in Quantity Surveying. Weekly hours are 37.5 per week and salary is negotiable dependent upon experience.
