Description

We are looking for an experienced Joinery Estimator to join my client's team, specializing in high-end residential joinery projects with values up to £1,000,000. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate costings, managing tender processes, and ensuring the financial success of each project by monitoring variations, scope changes, and financial performance. Key Responsibilities: Estimating & Tendering: Prepare and submit detailed cost estimates and tender documents for projects. Identify price variations and specification changes to ensure accurate cost recovery. Liaise with architects, site teams, and clients during pre-tender, live, and post-tender negotiations. Produce AutoCAD and SketchUp drawings to support tender submissions and articulate subcontractor requirements. Review tender drawings and schedules, identifying construction issues and establishing accurate scopes of work. Gather quotes from subcontractors and suppliers for specialist items. Project Financial Management: Manage project allowances, ensuring they are not exceeded. Identify any financial changes that may affect project profitability. Submit vesting certificate requests and monthly valuations. Collaborate with the General Manager to meet cashflow and P&L forecasts. Surveying: Prepare and issue monthly job valuations. Monitor and control cost variations, accurately pricing and recording their impact on final accounts. Organize and manage orders and applications. Value completed work and arrange monthly payments. Reconciliation: Reconcile all elements of project quotations, including design, manufacturing, finishing, installation, and material costs. Qualifications: Proven experience in estimating or surveying, particularly in joinery or high-end residential projects. Proficiency in AutoCAD and SketchUp. Strong financial acumen and the ability to manage multiple projects. Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
