About the Client Our client is a distinguished Mechanical and Electrical contractor renowned for their meticulous approach to Design and Installation across residential, commercial, and retail sectors. With impressive new residential projects on the horizon, our client is seeking a skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team. About the Role We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our client’s established commercial team, primarily overseeing projects in West and Central London. This role will play a crucial part in project management, working closely with site teams and clients. Key responsibilities include detailed cost management, expert handling of contractual matters, and ensuring projects meet the company's high standards of quality and efficiency. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor specialising in M&E (Mechanical and Electrical), you will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial aspects of projects. Your responsibilities will include: Leading all commercial activities throughout the project lifecycle. Assisting in compiling tender bids to ensure competitive pricing. Actively engaging with subcontractors and suppliers during project initiation. Reviewing and negotiating contracts with clients, supported by senior management. Negotiating and finalising subcontract agreements with specialist subcontractors. Preparing and submitting monthly interim valuations to clients as per contract terms. Managing, valuing, and agreeing on contract variations. Ensuring compliant payment notices are prepared and submitted to subcontractors. Managing and negotiating variations with subcontractors. Producing and presenting detailed financial reports monthly, adhering to company schedules. Finalising accounts upstream and downstream to ensure smooth project closure. Candidate Requirements Minimum of 5 years of experience in Quantity Surveying, with a focus on Electrical and Mechanical projects. Proven experience managing M&E packages up to £5 million. ONC, HNC, BSc, or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related field. Excellent communication skills and the ability to attend client and site meetings.
