Freelance Site Manager (Water) Location: Wakefield Area Start: September 2024 Duration: 6-month contract with potential for extension My Client are a Yorkshire based Civil Engineering Main Contractor that require an experienced Site Manager with a strong background in civil engineering? Someone capable of delivering high-quality projects while managing a diverse range of challenges? This is a great opportunity for a Freelance Site Manager to join a dynamic team delivering civil engineering projects within the Yorkshire Water framework. SCOPE OF WORKS: Construction of a segmental shaft and open-cut sewers. DUTIES: • Oversee day-to-day site operations, ensuring safety, quality, and efficiency • Coordinate and manage subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel • Ensure project milestones are met in line with programme • Ensure compliance with all health, safety, environmental, and quality regulations • Report progress, budget, and any issues to the Project Manager and relevant stakeholders • Liaise with local residents and authorities to minimise disruption and manage expectations • Resolve any site issues promptly to keep the project on track THE CANDIDATE: • Proven experience as a Site Manager on civils projects, preferably within the water sector • Strong knowledge of segmental shaft construction and open-cut sewer techniques • Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations and best practices • Ability to manage and motivate a diverse team of workers and subcontractors • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships Apply now with an up to date CV or contact Dan Standish at Kenton Black (Leeds)
