Project Manager - Structural steel Location: East Midlands - hybrid working Salary: Up to £65,000 car allowance A market leader in the structural steel industry is currently looking for an exceptional Project Manager to join their business on a permanent basis to manage and oversee numerous structural contracts. The company manage a number of large well-known projects in the industry and work alongside some of the best main contractors, so this would be an excellent position for someone who is experienced in the industry and would like to apply their skills, knowledge and experience on other well-known, large scale projects. Key areas of responsibility: Programme: Create , maintain regularly issue, internal/external project programmes based on client requirements Populate and maintain project review documents while coordinating cross department responsibilities to meet desired outcomes. Design: Monitor, project manage and programme the design process on each project, ensuring design is submitted accurately, in line with tender allowances, drawings are relevant and provide adequate detail, with relevant calculations provided in conjunction with the Design Management team. Organise and ensure internal design reviews are held on all items of scope in advance of design approval. Ensure site manager/supervisor are included to ensure buildability is not compromised. Ensure fabrication packs are issued early to fabrication/procurement and are comprehensive/complete. Commercial: Regular & accurate updating of projects cost documents along with accurate forecasting of cost to completion for all aspects of the project (design through to installation) to aid monitoring of site budgets. Responsibility to highlight potential cost issues/ opportunities arising. Regular updating/issue of site progress records & forecasts to allow accurately applications for payment. Review and sign off on project invoicing and accurate recording of same. Site Activities: Plan , monitor and ensure all site activities are carried out efficiently, and adequate resources are available for site works. Ensure site activities have all relevant H&S paperwork submitted and approved and paperwork is fit for purpose and kept updated. Ensure Health and safety file is in place at the start of each project and maintained throughout. Organise regular on-site safety inspections; review and submit subsequent reports to main contractor for their action. Main contractor safety concerns to be followed up and a formal close out obtained. Key attributes: Experienced in Structural steel, Design , Fabrication, Installation NVQ L6 Qualified H&S accreditation Organised Enjoys challenge of bringing a project from Design through to completion.
