Description
Unlock an Exclusive Opportunity - Only with Grõ Careers: If you’ve been seeking a role that transcends traditional architectural boundaries and propels you into the realm of project management, this is the opportunity you’ve been waiting for. The Challenge: At established architectural practices, your exposure to the commercial side of projects is often limited. Senior leadership or specialised teams frequently dominate the high-profile responsibilities. The Opportunity: We are partnered with an internationally acclaimed architectural studio that’s making its mark in London with a fresh approach. While renowned globally, the London office operates with a start-up mentality—fluid processes, evolving workflows, and unparalleled opportunities for growth. Here, you’ll take on a pivotal role, not only shaping design but also managing the commercial and performance aspects of groundbreaking projects. Why This Role? We’re building architectural teams alongside an in-house project management function, offering a unique career pathway. You'll gain early exposure to project management responsibilities with the potential to evolve into a full-fledged Project Manager. In this dynamic environment, you won’t be confined to just design—you’ll be at the forefront of both the creative and operational facets of the project. Here’s what recent placements had to say about their experience: “They celebrate individuality here - no two designers are alike, and that’s embraced.” “I’m now handling scope risk assessments for a major Middle Eastern project - something only directors managed at my previous firm” “The start-up vibe keeps things fresh, and the team culture is incredible.” The Role: You will seamlessly blend the creative and technical rigor of an architect with the strategic insight of a project manager. Your role will encompass both the design and technical delivery of high-spec projects, as well as the commercial oversight that ensures their success. This is your opportunity to break into project management with a role that offers immediate exposure and rapid career advancement. Key Requirements: 3–7 years of experience as an architect or project architect in a leading UK studio. Proven track record working on high-end, complex projects in the Middle East (demonstrated through an impressive portfolio). Proficiency in Revit (with hands-on, live project experience). Preferred Expertise: Experience leading and coordinating large, multi-disciplinary teams, acting as lead consultant. Ability to review, develop, and update design programs (Excel/MS Project), with a focus on tracking deliverables. Knowledge of contract administration, including scope analysis and consultant appointments. Expertise in managing project variations, aligning internal teams, and adjusting fees and timelines. Proficiency in handling RFIs, overseeing change management, and ensuring compliance. A grasp of project financials - able to manage budgets, monitor projected profits, and develop strategies to maintain a healthy margin. You’ll report the financial health of your projects directly to key stakeholders. A strategic mindset for managing complex projects in global environments, particularly in the Middle East. What You’ll Gain: You’ll work on projects that push the boundaries of architecture - award-winning designs that fuse natural materials with cutting-edge techniques, maintaining human scale even in monumental structures. Current projects include luxury hospitality and mixed-use developments across the Middle East, offering you the best of both worlds: creative freedom and operational leadership. If you're an experienced architect hungry for responsibility, eager to shape both design and commercial strategy, and seeking a career pathway that opens doors to project management, this is your moment.
