What They’re Looking For Due to a period of fast growth, my client is seeking to expand its commercial team, with a need for a Quantity Surveyor to help spearhead new projects. They’re looking for someone at either an Intermediate or Senior level, previous experience with a house builder is ideal, but not essential, and a commitment to upholding the core values of the company. Projects value from £1M up to £30M, so previous experience handling projects of these sizes is essential. Qualifications Previous / current experience with a house builder (Ideal). Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline. Strong knowledge of construction contracts, cost management, and procurement processes. Excellent numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail and Strong communication and negotiation skills Responsibilities Manage all costs related to residential construction projects, from initial calculations to the final figures. Prepare tender and contract documents, including bills of quantities. Oversee project costs, ensuring they are managed within budget. Conduct cost analysis and perform risk management tasks. Provide advice on contractual claims and procurement strategies. Work closely with site managers and contractors to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Prepare monthly cost reports and forecasts. Manage the procurement process, including subcontractor selection and performance management. Assist in the valuation of work done on-site and certify payments. This is a Permanent Position offering a competitive salary plus benefits package to the successful candidate.
