An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Estimator to join our client in Stoke on Trent. The company are a joinery manufacturer and interior fit out contractor. They have an excellent reputation for the quality manufacture and installation of fire doors, reception desks, counters and full commercial and retail fit outs across the UK. They are recruiting for a full-time permanent estimator. Duties include; 1. Pricing / assisting in pricing competitive tenders and negotiated projects ranging from £5k to £1million. 2. Liaising with supply chain, clients and all stakeholders in a professional manner 3. Developing and building existing and new relationships with clients 4. Understanding and reviewing construction drawings and construction programmes in a critical manner 5. Procuring materials and labour to meet project construction programmes 6. Experience of JCT & NEC contracts desirable 7. Preparing monthly valuations 8. Keeping an up to date variation and forecasted final account tracker and communicating / issuing to the client in a timely manner 9. Checking quantities and preparing take off’s. 10. Managing supply chain payments 11. Placing orders 12. Understanding costs and value reconciliation (CVR’s), and forecasted margin across multiple projects 13. Understanding commercial risks 14. Ability to organise one’s own tasks with minimum supervision 15. Managing projects through to completion, taking responsibility for their successful delivery. Estimator required; Internal fit out, joinery specialist and door manufacturer. National sub-contractor and regional main contractor requires a Estimator/Quantity Surveyor. Experience required: 2 years’ experience as Estimator / QS Educated to HNC/degree level advantageous. Experience of ceilings, partitions, door manufacture and fitted joinery desirable
