Carpentry Quantity Surveyor/Estimator - HERTFORDSHIRE Trading successfully for over 15 years my client have built a wealth of experience within the construction industry, undertaking all aspects of carpentry work in London, The Home Counties and the Southeast. Recently won several large projects in London and the home counties and are now currently seeking an ambitious and driven Carpentry Quantity Surveyor/Estimator to join their growing team. Specialising mainly in New Build Projects, their experienced team or Carpenters carry out all aspects of Carpentry which includes: Complete screens, glazed curtain walling & external door installation, Kitchen & Bathroom joinery fit out, External decking & timber soffits, General 1st Fix & 2nd Fix Carpentry, All framing including truss and cut rafters, Joist works & framing, UPVC Fascia & soffits With Project values between £50,000 - £2,000,000 – they work across an array of sectors which include Commercial, Residential, Healthcare, Student Accommodation and Embassy’s. THE ROLE – CARPENTRY ESTIMATOR / QUANTITY SURVEYOR Monday – Friday / 40 Hour Weeks Office Based in Hertfordshire – along with Site Visits As a Quantity Surveyor/Estimator, you will play a crucial role in generating detailed and accurate quotes for both new and ongoing projects based on client drawings and specifications and delivering projects within budget. The successful candidate will have a proven track record in quantity surveying, a keen eye for detail, and excellent communication skills. Main responsibilities: Undertaking the preparation and processing of quotations, bids, and tenders. Produce bill of quantities for final submission. To carry out monthly valuations of work in progress. Measure, value, submit and negotiate contract variations. Handle multiple projects simultaneously. Provide advice to project staff on commercial and contractual matters and attend site when required. Assist in the process of reviewing and processing subcontractors payment applications. Compliance with and assistance in helping promote the Health and Safety policy. Experience / Qualifications needed: Degree in quantity surveying or associated construction field ideal but not essential Surveying/estimating experience 1 years Personal Attributes: Ability to use own initiative. Ability to work both independently with minimal supervision and cohesively as part of a team. Self motivated and proactive. Professional presentation. Must be dynamic, professional, and forward thinking. Responsive to meet tender submission deadlines.
