About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Estimator with a comprehensive understanding of construction drawings, building materials, and methods. This role goes beyond basic take-offs, requiring a candidate who is up-to-date with the latest industry products, trends, and regulations predominantly in residential building but also within the commercial sector. You will play a key role in ensuring that our project estimates are accurate, up-to-date, and reflective of the latest standards and best practices in construction.


Key Responsibilities:

Detailed and Accurate Take-Offs:

  • Conduct precise and comprehensive take-offs from construction drawings, using our specialized software.
  • Provide detailed calculations for materials and quantities, ensuring alignment with project specifications and budgets.

Building Materials and Construction Knowledge:

  • Apply in-depth knowledge of building materials and construction techniques to inform take-off accuracy and material selection.
  • Stay updated on industry innovations and new products, suggesting relevant materials or solutions for projects.

Regulatory Compliance:

  • Ensure all take-offs and material recommendations comply with current building codes and regulations for both commercial and residential construction.
  • Keep informed on changes in building codes, zoning laws, and other regulations that impact project requirements.

Industry Trend Analysis:

  • Monitor and report on construction industry trends, emerging technologies, and new materials to support forward-thinking project planning.
  • Identify opportunities to incorporate sustainable materials or practices where applicable.

Collaboration and Communication:

  • Work closely with the Estimating, Project Management, and Procurement teams to align on project requirements and material choices.
  • Produce clear and detailed take-off reports, including any regulatory considerations or material recommendations.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in construction estimating, take-offs, or a related field.
  • Strong expertise in reading and interpreting construction drawings and blueprints.
  • In-depth knowledge of building materials, construction methods, and industry best practices.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of commercial and residential building codes and regulations.
  • Familiarity with Procore take-off software or an equivalent digital estimation tool, (training will be provided on our systems)
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Passion for staying updated on industry trends and sustainable building practices.
