Freelance Senior Quantity Surveyor Location : Central London (site-based) Rate : £450 - £550 per day (outside IR35) Duration : 12 months Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a high-profile hotel project on a freelance basis for a minimum of 12 months. The role requires strong commercial acumen and expertise in dealing directly with subcontractors. This is a cost-plus project demanding robust procurement management and post-contract oversight. Key Responsibilities Oversee procurement processes, ensuring subcontractor agreements are robustly negotiated and managed. Administer post-contract duties, including valuations, variations, and cost reporting. Work closely with trade contractors to maintain cost control and project efficiency. Identify and mitigate risks related to contractor claims or disputes. Prepare accurate and timely project reports for stakeholders. Ensure compliance with project objectives, budgets, and timelines. Candidate Profile Proven experience in similar contractor-focused roles. Strong knowledge of subcontractor management and construction industry practices. Excellent negotiation and problem-solving skills to handle the complexities of a cost-plus project. Demonstrated ability to manage large-scale projects with multiple stakeholders. Effective communication skills to work with both technical and non-technical teams. Desirable Qualifications Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or a related field. Membership of a relevant professional body (e.g., RICS, CIOB). Knowledge of London-based high-profile projects is advantageous.
